Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball League is devoted to fair play and sportsmanship. Our number one priority is that players who choose to play in our league enjoy their experience and create lasting, positive memories. We expect that all participants in our league including Coaches, Players, Parents and Officials have the same mindset and contribute to building the exceptional experience for all those involved in the game.
Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball league has always and will continue to led by our dedicated volunteers who act as managers, coaches and board members and allow this league to run and teach our children the "American Pastime". We are always looking for volunteers to coach at all levels of the league, but in particular, in the Tee Ball and Clinic age groups.
We are also looking for prospective Board Members to keep the league running efficiently and plan for the future to ensure the league remains financially sound, while continuing to make the necessary investments to make improvements at all our township fields.
This season, and continuing into the 2019 season, Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball is looking for a group of parents to join our Snack Stand Committee, which will help us run our snack stand during the season, as well as work with the board on other fundraising opportunities for the league. We are looking for 5-6 volunteers this season and will waive one registration fee as a thank you for your efforts.
If you are interested in any of these, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact our league president, Kate Irizarry, directly.
2018 Workbond Guidelines & Schedule
We have updated our workbond guidelines for the 2018 season. Instead of paying workbond fees at the time of registration, Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball will be collecting workbond fees before the season when uniforms are handed out. If a workbond check is not provided, you will not be given a uniform for your child.
Tee Ball, Clinic, and Minor League families will be have different options to help the league before and during the season. These duties are typically sorting uniforms prior to the season, pre-season cleanup, field maintenance, or helping out at the league picnic. Only one work commitment is required per child.
Major League parents will be asked to fulfill at least two work assignments per child at our Oak Shades snack stand during the season.
Work Bond checks will be cashed if one or more work assignments are missed. Work Bond checks will be shredded if all work assignments are fulfilled.
The 2018 Work Bond Fee is $100.
Codes of Conduct
Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball will be instituting a Parent/Player Code of Conduct for the upcoming 2019 season that we expect all Girls Softball participants to follow, as well as their families. We also will institute a Coaches Code of Conduct that all Managers & Coaches will need to follow. This is done to ensure the league provides a positive environment for our players, their families, and our guests at all Aberdeen Matawan playing and practice fields. All parents will be required to confirm they have read and reviewed this document when signing their children up next season, and all coaches will be expected to complete a simple online form prior to the season.
